A great look with just 5 products
Believe it or not you can get the perfect light, natural looking makeup using only five products. Yes, you did read that correctly - only FIVE!
Step 1: Reduce the shine
Let’s start with the Zao Compact Powder, this is a great product for sweeping over the face and reducing the shine.
Step 2: Triangle of light
Our next product is Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat. Apply between the brows and also beneath the eyes in a triangle shape to reduce any redness or spots. Tap and drag in an upwards direction with your fingertip to get the makeup into the pores which tend to be larger in this area.
The "triangle of light", as we call it, is a great way to fill enlarged pores and disguise them, it also reflects light up therefore drawing the focus upwards.
Step 3: The Artist’s Palette
Go over the whole eyelid with a light colour eye shadow, we’re using the ZOEVA Basic Moments eyeshadow palette here.
Sara has deep set eyes so this will help them stand out and appear closer. Use a darker shade on the outer corner and apply a line as you would a smoked up eyeliner.
A different shade can be used on the lower lid. Apply a line close to the lower lashes and blend it from the outer corner to the inside for more defined eyes.
Fill in any spaces where the brows are thinner. Define them with a smoky colour with a generous application but don’t go too heavy.
Pro tip: Avoid the inner brow area as this can look too severe.
Step 4: Sun-Kissed Glow
Apply bronzer to the upper forehead just beneath the hairline. Use the same colour on the cheeks, apply downwards towards the space between the nose and mouth to give a great contour.
Step 5: Kiss and Blush
Then Kiss and Blush, no need to guess what to use this product for! Apply a few spots to the upper cheekbones and tap into the skin with your fingertips.
This will take the redness out of the skin and give a natural finish. Once the "blush" is done it’s time for the "kiss" so apply a light application to the lips.
Number 4 is a great shade and even if you’re not into pink lipsticks (like Sara who prefers darker shades) we still think this summer colour compliments her paler complexion. What do you think?
Pro tip: For pale skin tones use only a gentle layer.
Step 6: Mascara
Our final product is mascara, we’re using L'Oreal False Lash Superstar mascara here and applying it to both the upper and lower lashes. Keep the application light and it will finish the overall look perfectly.
