A simple trick for eyeliners

Is the eyeliner your worst nightmare? It's really common for girls to avoid the cat eye flick simply because it doesn't stay put due to their eye shape. Hooded eyes are especially tricky to master, but there's a nice little tutorial we have up our sleeve that we hadn't showed you before. It mimics the look of a soft eyeliner and prevents the creasing, so read on if you want to know more.

Black kohl pencil

…will be the weapon of choice here. No gel eyeliners, eyeliner pencil and the lot, just a plain black kohl pencil, which is easy to come around and is usually cheaper than other mentioned products.

Start with a clean slate, so no makeup on your lids, though you can do the rest of your face beforehand. Begin dotting with the pencil tightly along the upper lash line, putting the dots right next to each other as close between the lashes as possible.
Once you finish, check with your eyes open if there are any blank spaces left between the lashes, and fill them in. You will immediately see that the eyes look more lifted and defined while still staying quite subtle and natural-looking.

The main goal is to push the color into the lash line (no lower than that!), so that it won't transfer on the upper lid or lower water line and you will stay smudge-free all day.

Finishing touches

Just for the sake of it, we did a simple eye makeup in the video tutorial and it turned out super pretty. As we learned, a little gold eyeliner on the upper lid goes a long way to finish off this day-time appropriate look.
Blend it quickly before it sets, then put on a few coats of mascara on the upper and lower lashes.
