Professional makeup artists doing their own makeup!
We just love seeing how professional makeup artists make up their own faces. In this tutorial Lea Bole lets us watch and learn as she expertly blends, blends, blends foundation and concealer to give herself a flawless complexion.
Step 1: Show your face some love!
Makeup is all about showing your face some love. Use small, gentle strokes and tap, tap, tap your way across the whole face with a moisturiser, this will help to keep your skin hydrated throughout the day and night.
Step 2: The magic mix
Concealer will disappear into the finest of creases but mixing it with a foundation will help fill the cracks without sinking in, giving you a smooth all-over finish.
Applying foundation will help keep your skin hydrated. Apply it using small amounts and go over the entire face, including the eyes which will act as a base coat before adding your chosen colours.
Pro tip: A powder can then be used to prep the eye, followed by a contouring powder to start to give the eyes more definition.
Step 3: From the outside in
Lea is using a red eyeshadow here and starting at the outer corner, see how she pulls the colour into the middle before going over it all with a shade of gold.
This colour is pulled further into the corners of the eyes, finishing off the full gradient coverage.
Step 4: Tricks of the trade
Gently stroking a colour over the eyebrows will shape and enhance them.
Bobbi Brown eyeliner is a great product but can be dry. Adding a drop of water to it can bring it back from the drought and leave it recharged and ready for use. Applying a gentle coat between the lashes is a great trick and gives the illusion of wearing a heavier, regular eyeliner.
Step 5: The finishing touches
A light blush finishes the look and is also applied to the jaw and upper part of the forehead, before the final colour of lipstick.
As you can see, Lea’s end result is stunning and can be easily intensified depending on the occasion.
